I, (Valerie) was inspired to create a dance team when I was 15 years of age, I had already been in love with dance, entertainment, music and production for years, performing and competing mainly on the west coast. I had just won the Oregon State Cinderella Pageant, becoming Miss Cinderella Teen of Oregon 1990. One of the rewards of that was a television set. Ironically the first night I plugged the television in, the TV premier of the dance movie Fast Forward was just starting. I had no cable, just antennas, I was so desperate to watch this dance movie, I hooked up a few hangers to my antenna, stood with my feet wide, and arm in the air to get the best reception as I watched Fast Forward the movie for the next hour and a half! As I watched, I knew that at one point in my life I wanted to inspire the love for dance, music & production in all ages… putting together a performance group to travel with a remarkable, rememberable hip hop and jazz non-stop show. In the late 1990’s that’s just what I did! We started at the Garden Home Recreation Center, and we have been there ever since!
